THE NJ STATE COUNCIL IS A SUBORDINATE UNIT OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, A FRATERNAL BENEFIT SOCIETY, ESTABLISHED TO RENDER FINANCIAL AID TO MEMBERS AND FAMILIES AND TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS TO SUPOORT RELIGIOUS, CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES TO ITS MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC.

PROMOTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION THROUGH THE AWARD OF COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS.


PROMOTION OF MEMBER BENEFITS AND SOCIAL SERVICES THROUGH VARIOUS FAMILY, YOUTH AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS DIRECTED FOR THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP. INCLUDED IS A FRATERNAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR MEMBERS IN NEED.


THE INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED PROGRAM PROVIDES AWARDS TO QUALIFIED AGENCIES WORKING WITH THE MENTALLY HANDICAPPED AND DISABLED INCLUDING THE ARC, SPECIAL OLYMPICS, CATHOLIC CHARITIES AND STATE DEVELOPMENT CENTERS.
