CAMBODIA TOWN, INC MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC WELL BEING OF LOW AND MODERATE INCOME INDIVIDUALS IN LONG BEACH BY PROVIDING HEALTH ACCESS, REVITALIZING THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND PROMOTING LOCAL BUSINESS CTI AIMS TO USE CAMBODIA CULTURE, CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS SPECIALLY EDUCATING THE PUBLIC.

YEARLY CAMBODIA TOWN PARADE AND CULTURE FESTIVAL SPOTLIGTING THE LARGEST CAMBODIAN COMMUNITY OUTSIDE SOUTHEAST ASIA IN ANAHEIM CORRIDOR OF LONG BEACH CELEBRATING THE CAMBODIAN AND OHER ETHNIC COMMUNITIES AND BUSINESSES ALONG THE ANAHEIM CORRIDOR PROMOTE BETTER RELATIONSHIPS AND UNDERSTANDING AMONG THE MULTI-ETHNIC RESIDENTS IN THE AREA ENCOURAGE CAMBODIAN-AMERICANS TO BE MORE ENGAGED WITH THE CITY OF LONG BEACH. PROMOTE UNITY WITHIN THE CAMBODIAN COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHT THE RICHNESS AND DIVERSITY OF KHMER CULTURE.

STOP THE HATE PROGRAM. COMPLETED 5 SELF DEFENSE WORKSHOPS FOR CAMBODIAN OLDER ADULTS - 75 PARTICIPANTS COMPLETED 5 SELF DEFENSE WORKSHOPS FOR CAMBODIAN WOMEN - 76 PARTICIPANTS COMPLETED 6 SMARTPHONE TRAININGS FOR OLDER CAMBODIANS - 90 PARTICIPANTS RECRUITED AND TRAINED A GROUP OF 30 WOMEN TO PERFORM A CAMBODIAN DANCE IN COSTUME WITH STOP THE HATE MESSAGE IN THE CT PARADE AND CULTURE FESTIVAL. AT SAME EVENT, RECRUITED 20 VOLUNTEERS WHO SURVEYED FESTIVAL ATTENDEES ON REPORTING STOP THE HATE INCIDENTS. COLLECTED OVER 350 COMPLETED SURVEYS.


KHMER LANGUAGE ACCESS PROGRAM TAUGHT KHMER TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS AND TO HELP MONOLINGUAL AND LEP CAMBODIANS TO NAVIAGE THE AMERICAN SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING BENEFITS AND OBTAINING CITIZENSHIP. SIX TO SEVEN INSTRUCTORS HAVE CLASSES TO OVER 150 STUDENTS PER WEEK. THIS IS IMPORTANT PROGRAM FOR CAMBODIANS AND NON CAMBODIANS WHO WOULD LIKE TO LEARN KHMER. FOR CAMBODIANS, IT IS A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT WITH AND DEVELOPE PRIDE IN THEIR CULTURE.
