OUR PURPOSE IS TO EDUCATE RECYCLERS ON THE PROPER PROCEDURES FOR MERCURY REMOVAL AND PROVIDE A MEANS FOR THE COLLECTION AND RECYCLING OF AUTOMOTIVE MERCURY SWITCHES; IN ADDITION, WE PROVIDE A HOTLINE AND WEB-BASED INFORMATION FOR RECYCLING AND HANDLING OF HIGH VOLTAGE (HYBRID/EV) BATTERIES. WE CONTINUE TO COLLECT AND RECYCLE MERCURY SWITCHES FROM RECYCLERS IN ALL 50 STATES. THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANT RECYCLERS CONTINUES TO GROW AND EDUCATION MATERIALS PROVIDING TRAINING IN ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY DISPOSAL ARE PROVIDED TO ALL PARTICIPANTS. VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS ARE BILLED FOR RECYCLING COSTS BASED ON THEIR SHARE OF SWITCHES. IN 2021, ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS RETURNED 278 LBS OF MERCURY. OUR CUMULATIVE PROGRAM TOTAL FOR MERCURY SWITCHES IS NOW OVER 8 TONS.
