THE INNOVATION CENTER OF THE ROCKIES (ICR) IS A NON-PROFIT, VIRTUAL INCUBATOR THAT CONCENTRATES ON SUPPORTING HIGH GROWTH START-UPS, NEW COMPANY CREATION AND COMMERCIALIZATION STRATEGIES FOR TECHNOLOGY GENERATED FROM UNIVERSITY RESEARCH. THE ICR'S UNIVERSITY COMMERCIALIZATION EFFORT HAS WORKED WITH ~300 RESEARCH TEAMS RESULTING IN 88+ COMMERCIAL OUTCOMES AND 20 START-UPS BASED ON UNIVERSITY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY BEING FORMED AND/OR MATERIALLY ASSISTED. OUR CURRENT UNIVERSITY PARTNERS AND CLIENTS INCLUDE; THE UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO, COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES AND COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY. THE ICR PROGRAM HELPING EARLY STAGE COMPANIES HAS TOUCHED 1,000+ START-UPS AND HAS WORKED WITH 110+ COMPANIES DIRECTLY AS ICR CLIENTS. SINCE 2006, THESE EFFORTS HAVE RESULTED IN THE CREATION OF 623 JOBS AND INNOVATION CENTER OF THE ROCKIES CLIENTS HAVE ATTRACTED $100+ MILLION IN NEW CAPITAL BOOSTING ECONOMIC ACTIVITY.
THE ICR CREATED A STAGE 2 PROGRAM TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF YOUNG BUSINESSES WITH A STRONG POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH. THIS PROGRAM CREATES A ROADMAP THAT IDENTIFIES AREAS IN WHICH THE COMPANY NEEDS HELP AND THEN PROVIDES THE TOOLS TO IMPLEMENT THE IDENTIFIED BUSINESS BUILDING CONCEPTS. THIS IS A HANDS ON PROGRAM WHICH REQUIRES A LOT OF TIME AND ATTENTION BY STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS SUCH AS LOCAL BUSINESS VETERANS AND SEASONED ENTREPENEURS.
