Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

LEADERSHIP TRAINING/PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: TEENS EXPLORE THE QUESTION "WHO AM I?" THROUGH A SERIES OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS. WORKSHOPS INCLUDE EXPERT FACILITATION AND SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION, AS WELL AS EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING TO ENHANCE THE TEEN EXPERIENCE. TEENS ARE GIVEN FREQUENT OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN LEADERSHIP SKILLS INCLUDING PUBLIC SPEAKING, EMAIL COMMUNICATION, ACCOUNTABILITY AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS. SOME TEENS STEP INTO OFFICIAL LEADERSHIP POSITIONS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION AND RECEIVE ADDITIONAL TRAINING IN PEER-TO-PEER LEADERSHIP, FEEDBACK ON PERFORMANCE AND ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO LEAD.

ARTS: TEENS APPLY THEIR LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE ART PROGRAM. TEENS PARTICIPATE IN 2 OR MORE "ARTS-AS-SERVICE" PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON, WHERE THEY ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE ORIGINAL WORKS OF ART THAT CELEBRATE OTHERS. IN ADDITION TO EXPLORING THE ARTS, THESE PROJECTS OFFER TEENS NEW WAYS TO EXPAND THEIR COMFORT ZONE, INCREASE SELF-CONFIDENCE, BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND LEARN ABOUT SOCIAL ISSUES.

BUDDY PROGRAM: THROUGHT THE BUDDY PROGRAM, TEENS ARE PARTNERED WITH CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES FOR A YEAR-LONG EXPERIENCE. THE FULL GROUP PARTICIPATES IN A MONTHLY "BUDDY EVENT" WHERE TEENS EXPLORE THE ARTS WITH THEIR "BUDDY" WHO HAS A DISABILITY. BETWEEN THE FULL-GROUP EVENTS, TEENS AND THEIR "BUDDY" CAN PARTICIPATE IN ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND CONTINUE TO BUILD THEIR FRIENDSHIP.
