THE CHAPTER REPRESENTS THE VARIOUS INTERESTS OF CARDIOLOGISTS, CARDIAC SURGEONS, AND OTHER MEDICAL SPECIALISTS, AND ITS MEMBERS REPRESENT THE CARDIOVASCULAR COMMUNITY ON STATE MEDICAL BOARDS AND PRESENT VIEWS TO STATE REGULATORY AGENCIES AND THIRD-PARTY PAYERS.

THE CHAPTER FUNCTIONS, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE LEADERSHIP OF THEAMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY ("ACC"), ACTS AS AN ADVISER TO GOVERNMENTAL AND PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS REGARDING CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE.
