ECUMENICAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (ECDO) IS A NONPROFIT COMMUNITY-BASED DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION INCORPORATED IN NEW YORK STATE ON NOVEMBER 6, 1983. THE MISSION OF ECDO IS TO FULFILL THE OBJECTIVE FORMULATING AND IMPLEMENTING PLANS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION, MODERATE AND SUBSTANTIAL REHABILITATION OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN WEST HARLEM AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES OF HAMILTON HEIGHTS, MANHATTANVILLE AND MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS. ECDOS SERVICE CAPACITY ALSO INCLUDES ADULT AND YOUTH EMPLOYMENT, JOB TRAINING, PRE-SCHOOL CHILD CARE AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES.

ECDO'S SERVICE CAPACITY ALSO INCLUDES ADULT AND YOUTH EMPLOYMENT, JOB TRAINING, EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, NEIGHBORHOOD-BASED PLANNING, TENANT/COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AND EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATIONAL SERVICES.


HEAD START AND CHILD AND ADULT FOOD CARE PROGRAMS CREATED TO ADDRESS LACK OF QUALITY CHILDCARE IN THE LOCAL COMMNUNITY AND THE OBSTACLES IT PRESENTS TO WOMEN SEEKING TO ENTER OR RE-ENTER THE LABOR FORCE.
