HOUSING: MOBILIZATION FOR JUSTICE WORKS TO PRESERVE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW-INCOME NEW YORKERS AND PREVENT HOMELESSNESS BY PROVIDING ADVICE, COUNSEL AND REPRESENTATION TO RESIDENTS ON A WIDE RANGE OF HOUSING ISSUES, INCLUDING TO PREVENT EVICTIONS, OBTAIN REPAIRS, DEFEND SUCCESSION RIGHTS, CONTEST INCORRECT RENTS AND CHALLENGE LANDLORD HARASSMENT, AMONG OTHER ISSUES. WE ALSO HELP PEOPLE PRESERVE THEIR HOMES BY REPRESENTING THEM IN FORECLOSURE ACTIONS.
DISABILITY AND AGING RIGHTS: MOBILIZATION FOR JUSTICE PROVIDES CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS LIVING IN THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING THOSE LIVING IN ADULT HOMES AND FOR SENIORS LIVING IN NURSING HOMES. WE ALSO WORK ON TRANSPORTATION ACCESSIBILITY.

WE REPRESENT PARENTS AT INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PROGRAM MEETINGS, ADMINISTRATIVE DUE PROCESS HEARINGS, AND IN APPEALS BEFORE THE NEW YORK STATE REVIEW OFFICER AND IN FEDERAL COURT.
