AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING - AS PART OF THE LEAGUE'S MISSION, THE LEAGUE PROVIDES TRAINING TO ITS MEMBERS TO ENABLE THEM TO BECOME EFFECTIVE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS AND CIVIC LEADERS. EACH YEAR, THE LEAGUE COMMITS FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS OF LEAGUE MEMBERS, AS WELL AS TRAINING THEM ON HOW TO CREATE AND IMPLEMENT PROGRAMMING THAT WILL HAVE A LASTING POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY. TRAINING IS PROVIDED ON A LOCAL BASIS THROUGH THE LEAGUE AND OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, SUCH AS THE VOLUNTEER CENTER AND THE FAIRFIELD COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, AND BY SENDING DELEGATES TO LEADERSHIP CONFERENCES HELD BY THE ASSOCIATION OF JUNIOR LEAGUES, INTERNATIONAL.


IN SEPTEMBER 2019, THE LEAGUE ENTERED INTO A THREE-YEAR COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT WITH LIVEGIRL, INC. TO PARTICIPATE IN A CONFIDENCE-BUILDING PROGRAM FOR HIGH-SCHOOL GIRLS TO INSTILL SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND BUILD CONFIDENCE AND KNOWLEDGE THROUGH DEVELOPING COMMUNITY-SERVICE PROJECTS. THE LEAGUE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING UP TO $10,000 TO LIVEGIRL, INC. FOR EACH OF THE THREE YEARS OF THE COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT. IN 2021-22, THE LEAGUE PROVIDED $6,000 TO LIVEGIRL, INC. THE THREE-YEAR COLLABORATION ENDED ON MAY 31, 2022.
