EDUCATIONAL AND RETAIL SHOP: OUR IN-HOUSE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM TEACHES PEOPLE HOW TO REPAIR BIKES. THE STUDENTS STRIP AND REFURBISH DONATED BIKES WHICH WE EITHER RECYCLE OR SELL TO SUPPORT BICYCLE COMMUTING IN OUR COMMUNITY. AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM, THE STUDENTS BUILD AND TAKE HOME A BIKE. IN ADDITION, THESE USED BIKE PARTS, SHOP TOOLS, MECHANICS, AND INSTRUCTORS HELP OUR MEMBERS TO MAINTAIN THEIR OWN BICYCLES.

OUTREACH AND BIKE AMBASSADORS: OUR OUTREACH PROGRAM SERVES TO EDUCATE AND ENCOURAGE POTENTIAL NEW BICYCLISTS AND TO ADVOCATE BICYCLES AS A SAFE AND VIABLE MEANS OF PRIMARY TRANSPORTATION. WE HOLD IN-HOUSE WORKSHOPS, ATTEND AND HOLD EVENTS, HOLD CLASSES AT EMPLOYER SITES AND SCHOOLS, SEND NEWSLETTERS,ETC., TO ACCOMPLISH THIS.

WALK AND BIKE MONTH: DURING WALK AND BIKE MONTH, WE ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO TRY OUT BICYCLING AS A MEANS OF COMMUTING TO WORK. FOR 2022, WE HAD APPROXIMATELY 8,500 PARTICIPANTS AND HELD EVENTS NEARLY EVERYDAY DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE. WE TEAMED UP WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES FOR THESE EVENTS AND TO ENCOURAGE THEIR EMPLOYEES TO GIVE BICYCLE COMMUTING A TRY.
