ORPHANCONCERN INTERNATIONAL, "OCI", IS AN ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES EDUCATION (BOTH ACADEMIC AND SPIRITUAL), HEALTH CARE, AND NUTRITION TO CHILDREN WHO HAVE LOST ONE OR BOTH PARENTS TO HIV/AIDS IN KENYA. OCI HAS BEEN A PLACE OF REFUGE FOR CHILDREN NOT ONLY AS THEY FACE PERSONAL CATASTROPHE, BUT ALSO AS THE NATION HAS FACED HARDSHIP. THE CHILDREN ARE TAUGHT THAT THEIR TRUE HOPE AND REFUGE IS FOUND IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST. THEY ARE FED BOTH PHYSICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY AND GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE IN A LAND THAT IS STARVING FOR HOPE. FUNDS ARE SENT TO A KENYAN ORGANIZATION (NGO, NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION) WHO MAKES THE ACTUAL DISBURSEMENT. A NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION (NGO) IS ANY NON-PROFIT, VOLUNTARY CITIZENS' GROUP WHICH IS ORGANIZED ON A LOCAL, NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL LEVEL.
