MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS IN MASSACHUSETTS. PROVIDES REPRESENTATION FOR PA'S IN REGARD TO LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MATTERS. ALSO PROVIDES CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES TO IT'S MEMBERS AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES.

Part 3

FALL CME EVENT. MAPA IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR EVENT MANAGER, CHAMBERLAIN MEDICAL RESOURCES, HOSTED A 2 DAY CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION EVENT IN BOSTON, MA ON OCTOBER 29-30, 2016. MAPA PROVIDED ITS MEMBERS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO OBTAIN OVER 14 HOURS OF CATEGORY 1 CME CREDIT. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN 50 HOURS OF CATEGORY 1 CME HOURS EVERY TWO YEARS TO MAINTAIN THEIR CERTIFICATION. MAPA ALSO HOSTED A RECEPTION FOR ITS MEMBERS TO ALLOW FOR NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY AND UPDATES ON PROFESSIONAL ISSUES. MAPA ALSO HOSTED A STUDENT TRACK TO ALLOW FOR CURRENT PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT STUDENTS TO TO PARTICIPATE IN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND TO NETWORK WITH STUDENTS FROM OTHER PROGRAMS.


SPRING CME EVENT. MAPA HOSTED A 1 DAY CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION EVENT ON SATURDAY, MARCH 12, 2016. THE EVENT PROVIDED OUR MEMBERS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN 6.25 HOURS OF CATEGORY 1 CME CREDIT. THE PROGRAM FOCUS IS ON PHARMACOLOGY. THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS REQUIRES PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS TO HAVE 4 HOURS OF CME ANNUALLY DEDICATED TO PHARMACOLOGY. MAPA ALSO HOSTED ITS ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING DURING THIS EVENT.
