DUE TO COVID-19, AMERICAN CONSERVATION FILM FESTIVAL HOSTED A COMPLETELY VIRTUAL, ONLINE FESTIVAL IN 2021. THE FESTIVAL PRESENTED 48 CONSERVATION-FOCUSED FEATURE AND SHORT FILMS AND EIGHT RECORDED DISCUSSIONS WITH FILMMAKERS AND CONSERVATIONISTS. A TOTAL OF SIX AWARDS WERE GIVEN TO FILMMAKERS. TO INCREASE ACCESSIBILITY, THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERED WITH CORPSTHAT TO OFFER FILMS WITH CLOSED CAPTIONING AND DISCUSSIONS RECORDED WITH ASL TRANSLATION. ALL PROGRAMMING WAS PRESENTED FREE OF CHARGE TO VIEWERS. THE ONLINE FESTIVAL INCREASED VIEWERSHIP BY 100%, REGISTERING VIEWERS FROM 30 COUNTRIES. ACFF OFFERED TWO STREAMING EVENTS WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC AND THE JEFFERSON ARTS COUNCIL. THE ORGANIZATION HELD AN IN-PERSON BEST OF FEST IN FREDERICK, MARYLAND, ANOTHER BEST OF FEST EVENT AT SHENANDOAH UNIVERSITY IN WINCHESTER, VIRGINIA AND A SPECIAL SCREENING FOR THE WEST VIRGINIA NATURALIST PROGRAM. THE STAFF WORKED WITH THE ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT OF SHENANDOAH UNIVERSITY TO ALLOW STUDENTS TO REVIEW FESTIVAL FILMS. AMERICAN CONSERVATION FILM FESTIVAL HELD ITS 5TH NEXT GEN CAPTURE CONSERVATION CONTEST FOR YOUTH 18 YEARS OF AGE AND UNDER. THE CONTEST RECEIVED 16 SUBMISSIONS AND AWARDED PRIZES IN THREE AGE GROUPS. AMERICAN CONSERVATION FILM FESTIVAL CURATED THEMED COLLECTIONS OF FILMS ONLINE YEAR-ROUND. IN ADVANCE OF THE 2022 FESTIVAL, THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED 291 FILM SUBMISSIONS TOTALING OVER 130 HOURS OF FILM FROM 49 COUNTRIES.
