TO CREATE THEATRE THAT MAKES OUR COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE BY PRODUCING PLAYS, PROVIDING A SUPPORTIVE PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THEATRE ARTISTS ARE INSPIRED TO PERFORM THEIR BEST WORK, AND ENCOURAGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF VERMONT AUDIENCES AND THEIR LOVE OF THEATRE.

SEASON SERIES: VERMONT STAGE COMPANY (VSC) NORMALLY STAGES SIX PROFESSIONAL LIVE THEATRICAL PRODUCITONS FEATURING OVER 90 PERFORMANCES EACH YEAR, INCLUDING A SERIES OF FOUR MAINSTAGE PLAYS, OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY SHOW "WINTER TALES,- AND OUR ANNUAL SPRING SHOW "THE BAKE OFF." IN ADDITION TO OUR OPERATING STAFF, WE HIRE 100-150 THEATRE ARTISTS ANNUALLY, AND PLAY TO OVER 8,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS EACH YEAR.
EDUCATIONAL: VERMONT STAGE COMPANY PRODUCES ITS AWARD-WINNING "VERMONT YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL;" AN ANNUAL 10 MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL FEATURING PLAYS WRITTEN BY MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM ACROSS NORTHERN VERMONT. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, VERMONT YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS HAS HELPED OVER 12,000 STUDENTS WRITE THEIR FIRST PLAY.
