TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR WISCONSIN TRIBES TO TO ACHIEVE THEIR NATURAL RESOURCES GOALS. WTCAC PROVIDE A FORUM FOR INTER-TRIBAL COLLABORATION WITH STATE, LOCAL AND FEDERAL PARTNERS. WTCAC FOSTERS RELATIONSHIPS WITH NON FEDERAL AND FEDERAL ENTITIES TO EXCERCISE GOVERNMENT-TO-GOVERNMENT COLLABORATION WITH TRIBES, HONORING TREATY RIGHTS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

WTCAC PROVIDES EDUCATION, OUTREACH, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO 11 TRIBAL NATIONS IN WISCONSIN, APPLYING FEDERAL PROGRAMS ON TRIBAL LANDS. IN 2020, WTCAC WORKED WITH TRIBES TO COMPLETE ON-THE-GROUND NATURAL RESOURCE PROJECTS INCLUDING INVASIVE SPECIES CONTROL AND MONITORING ON TRIBAL LANDS, LOCAL FOOD PRODUCTION, FOREST HEALTH, FISH PASSAGES, AQUACULTURE, AND CULVERT REPLACEMENTS. IN ADDITION, WTCAC WORKED WITH PARTNERS TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND OUTREACH MATERIALS TO TRIBES IN WISCONSIN RELATED TO AGRICULTURE AND CONSERVATION NEEDS.


WTCAC SUPPORTS NATIVE AMERICAN INTERNS AND SEASONAL WORKERS TO WORK ON TRIBAL LANDS. THESE POSITIONS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR TRAINING FOR LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT FOR GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND TRIBAL OFFICES. NATIVE AMERICAN INTERNS AND SEASONAL WORKERS IN THIS PROGRAM HAVE HANDS-ON OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPLEMENT CONSERVATION, AGRICULTURE, AND NATURAL RESOURCE PROJECTS ON TRIBAL LANDS.
