CHATTAHOOCHEE NATIONAL PARKS CONSERVANCY IS THE FRIENDS GROUP OF THE CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVER NATIONAL RECREATION AREA, A UNIT OF NATIONAL PARK SERVICE. CNPC'S MISSION IS TO CREATE A COMMUNITY OF SUPPORT FOR THE PARK AND PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.

A DMO'S FUNDAMENTAL MISSION IS THE PROMOTION OF VISITOR, BUSINESS AND CONVENTION TRAVEL, WHICH GENERATES OVERNIGHT LODGING FOR A DESTINATION. THEY ARE DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAVEL AND TOURISM PRODUCT AWARENESS TO VISITORS. THE SOLE FUNDING SOURCE OF THIS EFFORT IS SUPPORTED BY THE HOTEL/MOTEL TAX REVENUE OF THE COMMUNITY. THIS TAKES PLACE YEAR-ROUND THROUGH A VARIETY OF WAYS INCLUDING MARKETING, PUBLIC RELATIONS, CONFERENCES, ASSOCIATION INVOLVEMENT, DIRECT SALES, TRADE SHOWS, COLLATERAL DISTRIBUTION, EVENT PLANNING, ETC.
