EDC IS ORGANIZED AS A SEC. 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT CORPORATION, AND PROVIDES LEGAL COUNSEL TO OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. WE REMAIN THE ONLY SUCH PUBLIC INTEREST ENVIRONMENTAL LAW FIRM BETWEEN LOS ANGELES AND SAN FRANCISCO, AND THRIVE ON THE SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS FROM WITHIN OUR REGION AND BEYOND.

ALPHA RESOURCE CENTER OF SANTA BARBARA IS COMMITTED TO EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, SUPPORTING FAMILIES AND FOSTERING A COMMUNITY THAT VALUES THE CONTRIBUTION OF ALL PEOPLE.

MISSION:

THE MISSION OF LAGUNA COTTAGES IS TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING FOR LOW INCOME SENIORS, AGE 65 AND OLDER. RESIDENTS PAY RENT AT THE RATE OF 30% OF THEIR INCOME. RENTS ARE RECALCULATED ANNUALLY BY REVIEW OF EACH RESIDENT'S INCOME FOR THE PAST YEAR. LAGUNA COTTAGES HAS FIFTY FIVE UNITS, WITH FIFTY EIGHT CURRENT RESIDENTS.

THE MISSION OF SHELTERBOX USA IS TO DELIVER HUMANITARIAN RELIEF IN THE FORM OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS THAT BRING SHELTER, WARMTH & DIGNITY TO PEOPLE MADE HOMELESS BY NATURAL OR OTHER DISASTERS WORLDWIDE.

The goal of this organization are the residential facilities for older adults who are unable to function in an independent living environment because they need assistance with toileting, bathing, dressing, medication, meals and housekeeping and other activities of daily living, but do not require nursing care on a regular basis.

Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.
