TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES FACING HUNGER IN DURHAM COUNTY, NC.

The goal of this organization is to operate establishments primarily engaged in providing food services to patrons who order and are served while seated (i.e., waiter/waitress service) and pay after eating. These establishments may provide this type of food service to patrons in combination with selling alcoholic beverages, providing carryout services, or presenting live nontheatrical entertainment.

FEEDING CHARLOTTE RESCUES SURPLUS, FRESHLY PREPARED MEALS TO REDUCE FOOD WASTE AND FEED THE HUNGRY. WE BELIEVE NO FOOD SHOULD BE WASTED WHILE PEOPLE GO HUNGRY IN OUR COMMUNITY. TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE, WE PICKUP UNUSED, EXCESS FRESHLY PREPARED FOODS FROM INSTITUTIONS, DINING HALLS, AND CATERERS (THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE THROWN IN THE TRASH) AND REDIRECT TO NONPROFITS THAT FEED THE HUNGRY.

TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM TO DISPLAY THE UNITY OF THE BODY OF CHRIST THROUGH THE MEETING OF PRACTICAL NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. EACH WEEK, OVER 600 HONORED GUESTS ARE SERVICED BY THE PROVISION OF FOOD, CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, FURNITURE, AND CARE DONATED BY BUSINESSES, OTHER GROUPS AND INDIVIDUAL DONORS. THERE IS NO COST FOR OUR HONORED GUESTS FOR ANY OF THESE ITEMS OR SERVICES. THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS ALWAYS FREELY GIVEN IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH DURING THE INTIAL WELCOME OF HONORED GUESTS. EVERY VOLUNTEER STRIVES TO EXTEND THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST THROUGHOUT THE VISIT OF EACH AND EVERY HONORED GUEST THAT WE SERVE (AND EACH PERSON WHO ENTERS OUR FACILITY IS SEEN AS AN HONORED GUEST)
