THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY OF HAWAII EXISTS TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT THE RESOURCES OF ALL HAWAII'S PUBLIC LIBRARIES WITH ONLY BASIC NEEDS FUNDED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE. DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC, THE STATE LIBRARIES WERE CLOSED UNDER A GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN ORDER. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED A VIRTUAL READING PROGRAM AND SUPPORT OF ONLINE PROGRAMS. IMPOSSIBLE TO QUANTIFY THOSE BENEFITS.
