TO POSITIVELY AFFECT THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY OR OTHER SEVERE DISABILITIES WITH SIMILAR SERVICE NEEDS. SUPPORT FOR THE FAMILIES IS SEEN AS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION. UCPA'S GOAL IS TO EMPOWER PEOPLE WITH CHOICES AND TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDEPENDENCE.

EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES IS A STATE-FUNDED, EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE STATE OF HAWAII'S DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - EARLY INTERVENTION SECTION THAT PROVIDES SERVICES FOR CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF BIRTH AND THREE YEARS OF AGE WHO HAVE DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED IN EACH CHILD'S NATURAL ENVIRONMENT (I.E., HOME) WITH THE GOAL OF EDUCATING, ENHANCING, AND COACHING PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE CHILD'S DAILY ROUTINES AND ACTIVITIES. EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES PROVIDES DEVELOPMENT EVALUATION, INDIVIDUALIZED FAMILY SUPPORT PLANS, DIRECT SERVICES, CARE COORDINATION SERVICES, AND SUPPORT SERVICES REFERRALS.


UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY ASSOCIATION OF HAWAI'I PROVIDES CASE MANAGEMENT, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, CRISIS INTERVENTION, COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES. UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY ASSOCIATION OF HAWAI'I NETWORKS WITH OTHER AGENCIES TO ACCESS APPROPRIATE SERVICES AND TO PROVIDE ADVOCACY FOR PERSONS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY, AND THEIR FAMILIES, IN ORDER TO INCREASE INDEPENDENCE IN DAILY LIVING AND INTEGRATION INTO THE COMMUNITY/SOCIETY.


UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY ASSOCIATION OF HAWAI'I PROVIDES EDUCATION TO THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITS PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF CEREBRAL PALSY, AND HOW TO DECREASE THE INCIDENTS OF PREVENTABLE CEREBRAL PALSY. EDUCATION IS PROVIDED THROUGH THAT ASSOCIATION'S WEBSITE AND AT EVENTS, FUNDRAISERS, AND ACTIVITIES.
