CAMP QWANOES IS A YOUTH-FOCUSED HIGH ADVENTURE CHRISTIAN CAMP THAT EXISTS TO LOVE KIDS TO LIFE LIKE NO OTHER, HELPING THEM DISCOVER, LIVE AND SHARE LIFE LIKE NO OTHER IN CHRIST. SITUATED ON 55 ACRES OF MAGNIFICENT SCENIC WATERFRONT PROPERTY ON VANCOUVER ISLAND BETWEEN VICTORIA AND NANAIMO, QWANOES IS A FULLY-ACCREDITED MEMBER OF THE BC CAMPING ASSOCIATION AND CHRISTIAN CAMPING INTERNATIONAL-CANADA. AS A CHRISTIAN CAMP, WE TAKE PRINCIPLES OF THE BIBLE AND MAKE THEM RELEVANT TO EVERYDAY LIFE. IN SUMMER 2023, THE CAMP WELCOMED THE MOST SUMMER CAMPERS THEY'VE HAD SINCE PRE-COVID IN 2019, WITH 4136 CAMPERS. 464 PEOPLE SERVED AS PART OF SUMMER STAFF EITHER FOR THE WEEK OR ENTIRE SUMMER. THE CAMP ALSO PROVIDES SUMMER LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. DURING 2023 THE CAMP WELCOMED 71 YOUTH AGES 15-16 TO STEP-OUT, OUR TWO-WEEK ENTRY LEVEL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM; 66 YOUNG LEADERS AGES 16-18 WERE PART OF OUR FOUR-WEEK FUNDATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM, CALLED CIT; 27 WERE PART OF THE LEADER-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM. IN ADDITION, 22 COLLEGE-AGE STUDENTS WERE PART OF OUR FIRST-YEAR COLLEGE KALEO PROGRAM - IT WAS THE CAMP 21ST YEAR AND IT WELCOMED IT'S 500TH STUDENT. 7 INTERNS WERE PART OF OUR "NEXT" INTERNSHIP PROGRAM. THE CAMP WELCOMED 205 TO IT'S ISLAND YOUTH WORKERS CONFERENCE. 47 HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE CONTINUING SPIRITUAL AND LEADERSHIP GROWTH IN OUR YEAR-ROUND ENROUTE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM.
