MYCHAL'S LEARNING PLACE PROVIDES THE SUPPORT, TRAINING AND OPPORTUNITIES TO YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO BUILD THEIR INDEPENDENCE AND PURSUE THEIR GOALS AND DREAMS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

MYCHALS TEACHES INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TO YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. PROGRAMS INCLUDE TWO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS (HAWTHORNE AND CULVER CITY), ADULT DAY PROGRAM, SATURDAY PROGRAM, SPECIAL OLYMPICS PARTICIPATION AND MORE. THE GOAL OF THESE PROGRAMS IS TO PROVIDE THE TRAINING THAT WILL LEAD TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE.THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM PROVIDES SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING.MYCHAL'S PATH TO INDEPENDENCE ADULT DAY PROGRAM'S FOCUS IS INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING, ON THE JOB TRAINING AND MORE, WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF INDEPENDENCE.


IN 2015, MYKIE'S COFFEE, BAKERY AND CATERING BUSINESS OPENED. PROVIDING JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THE BUSINESS INCLUDES A FOOD TRUCK THAT MAKES SPECIALTY COFFEE DRINKS AND BAKED GOODS THAT ARE MADE IN OUR KITCHEN. WE POP UP WITH OUR ESPRESSO MACHINES AT REGULAR WEEKLY LOCATIONS AS WELL AS CATERING AND COMMUNITY EVENTS.


IN 2019, WE ADDED MYCHAL'S PRINTS TO THE FAMILY OF PROGRAMS. MYCHAL'S PRINTS OFFERS EMBROIDERY AND DTG PRINTING ON SHIRTS, HATS, JACKETS AND MORE. MYCHAL'S PRINTS WAS STARTED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO THOSE WE SERVE.BOTH BUSINESSES ALSO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL SOURCE OF REVENUE TO MYCHALS AND BUILDS AWARENESS IN THE COMMUNITY.
