THE MISSION OF GLENDALE ARTS IS TO INTEGRATE THE ARTS INTO THE IDENTITY, GROWTH AND ECONOMIC VITALITY OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE BY PREESENTING PROGRAMMING AND CREATING PARTNERSHIPS THAT BENEFIT YOUTH, PATRONS, ARTISTS, ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES IN THE COMMUNITY AND AT THE ALEX THEATRE.

ALEX THEATRE- GLENDALE ARTS OVERSEES THE PRESERVATION AND OPERATION OF THE 1,400 SEAT HISTORIC ALEX THEATRE THROUGH A MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT AND LEASE WITH THE SUCCESSOR AGENCY. THE VENUE'S DIVERSE SCHEDULE OF PROGRAMMING PRESENTED BY PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY PERFORMING ARTS GROUPS INCLUDES CLASSICAL MUSIC, LIVE THEATRE, COMEDY, FILM, POPULAR CONCERTS, AND DANCE.


PROGRAMS AND SERVICES- GLENDALE ARTS PROVIDES RESOURCES TO FOSTER AND STRENGTHEN THE CAPACITY OF LOCAL ARTISTS AND ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND ALSO PRESENTS CULTURAL PROGRAMS TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC VITALITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE COMMUNITY. GLENDALE ARTS HAS AN INTERACTIVE WEB SITE THAT SERVES AS AN IFNORMATION PORTAL FOR THE ARTS COMMUNITY AND INCLUDES ARTIST PROFILES, BLOGS, AND A MASTER CALENDAR OF EVENTS. GLENDALE ARTS ALSO PRESENTED A VARIERTY OF PROGRAMS THAT CELEBRATED THE COMMUNITY'S CULTURAL ETHNICITY.
