THE VISION 2024 CONFERENCE WAS HELD ON NOVEMBER 9, 2023 AT DOUBLETREE BY HILTON IN BUENA PARK. THIRTY-THREE CLIENTS ATTENDED PLUS AN ADDITIONAL SEVEN PRESENTERS INCLUDING SPEAKERS FROM US EPA REGION 9, LA COUNTY FIRE CUPA, CHP/DOT, CALEPA AND CAL OSHA. THE CALRMA BOARD MEETING COVERED ASSOCIATION BUSINESS, APPROVAL OF 2023 FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND FUTURE ACTIVITIES. THE MAIN GOAL OF CALRMA IN 2023 WAS THE CONTINUED GROWTH OF MEMBERSHIP AND LA/OC CHAPTER ACTIVITIES. FIVE NEW MEMBERS JOINED DURING 2023.LA/ORANGE CHAPTER HELD THEIR 36THANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2023. PROCEEDS FROM THE TOURNAMENT WERE USED TO SPONSOR SCHOLARSHIPS AT RIO HONDO COMMUNITY COLLEGE.THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS UTILIZED E-MAIL AND ZOOM DURING 2023 TO COVER SELECTIVE BUSINESS ACTIVITIES AND MANAGE CALRMA ACTIVITIES. THE ORGANIZATION'S WEBSITE WAS UPDATED DURING THE YEAR.GENERAL INFORMATION, MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION, FUTURE EVENTS AND ACHIEVED PRESENTATIONS ARE POSTED ON THE CALRMA WEBSITE, HTTPS://CALRMA.COM.OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING 2023 INCLUDED:- FIVE ONE-DAY RCRA-DOT HAZMAT TRAINING COURSES CONDUCTED BY THE CALRMA/SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, IN WHICH SIXTEEN CERTIFICATES WERE ISSUED TO PARTICIPANTS. THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR GENERATORS WHO MANAGE HAZARDOUS WASTE, SIGN MANIFESTS, AND DRIVERS OR LOADERS.- A TOUR OF THE PUENTE HILLS MATERIALS RECOVERY FACILITY ON FEBRUARY 23, 2023.- LEGISLATIVE UPDATE ON MARCH 22, 2023.- CALRECYCLE AND E-WASTE MANAGEMENT ON JULY 19, 2023 PROVIDED AN OVERVIEW OF THE COVERED ELECTRONIC WASTE RECYCLING PROGRAM.- HAZWASTE 101 WEBINAR ON AUGUST 23, 2023, GAVE UPDATES ON CALIFORNIA GENERATOR IMPROVEMENT RULES AND COMPLIANCE ACTIVITIES.
