DEVELOPING PEOPLE - LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR UPPER MANAGEMENT ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDERS (API). SUCH PROGRAMS INCLUDED: 1) CUSTOMIZED 3-DAY PATHWAYS PROGRAM FOR COMPANIES SEEKING TO INCREASE THE SUCCESS OF THEIR API TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF. CONDUCTED 2 PROGRAMS (ONE IN-PERSON, ONE VIRTUAL) WITH 42 PARTICIPANTS. EACH IN-PERSON PARTICIPANT SPENT 24 HOURS IN LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND FOR THE VIRTUAL PROGRAM, PARTICIPANTS SPENT 11 HOURS OVER A COURSE OF THREE DAYS. PARTICIPANTS ALSO RECEIVED 6 HOURS OF INDIVIDUALIZED EXECUTIVE COACHING. 2) LDP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF API COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATORS WAS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS ON TRAVEL AND PUBLIC SPACE GATHERINGS. IN LIEU PROGRAM FACULTY FACILITATED AN ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM OVER FIVE SEPARATE DAYS, CONSISTING OF A SPEAKER SERIES, VIRTUAL NETWORKING AND MEET AND GREET SESSIONS FOR ALL PROGRAM ALUMNI. OVER 253 PARTICIPANTS ENGAGED TOGETHER OVER 5 SESSIONS.DONATED IN-KIND SERVICES FROM TRAINERS $5,000.


EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES - COMPREHENSIVE LEADERSHIP TRAINING, ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS TO PROMOTE THE CULTIVATION OF NEW COMMUNITY LEADERS, TO STRENGTHEN THE EFFECTIVENESS OF EXISTING COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND TO ESTABLISH A SUPPORTIVE NETWORK FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE, RESOURCE SHARING AND COLLABORATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING. IN 2020, PROGRAMS INCLUDED 1) LEAP IMPACT (VIRTUAL PLATFORM) DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN THE CAPACITY OF DIVERSE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS BY PROVIDING API SENIOR STAFF FOR FUTURE AND CURRENT LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT ROLES IN NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. PARTICIPANTS INCLUDED 16 API SENIOR MANAGERS FROM 10 DIFFERENT CITIES IN 10 STATES. EACH PARTICIPANT GAINED 56 HOURS OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING AND 6 HOURS OF EXECUTIVE COACHING. 2)LEAP EMERGE, 11 COLLEGE STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN A PAID EIGHT-WEEK VIRTUAL SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESIGNED TO DEVELOP YOUNG LEADERS WITH PRACTICAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS. THE SUMMER INTERNS SPENT 99.5 HOURS OVER EIGHT-WEEKS IN LEADERSHIP TRAINING. AS PART OF THE PROGRAM, INTERNS COLLABORATED ON A GROUP PROJECT CONDUCTING SEMI STRUCTURED INTERVIEWS WITH FORMER LEAP ALUMNI. THE PROJECT CAN BE VIEWED ON LEAP'S WEBSITE AT WWW.LEAP.ORG 3) LEAP EMERGE: VIRTUAL LEADERSHIP RETREAT WEEK IS A 4-DAY RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM THAT INVITED 11 SELECTED COLLEGE STUDENTS TO ATTEND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ALONGSIDE THE FELLOW INTERNS TO CREATE COMMUNITY BUILDING AMONGST EACH OTHER. THEY RECEIVED 16 HOURS OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. 4) LEAP EMERGE, THE CLASSROOM EDITION, A 16-WEEK PROGRAM CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, LOS ANGELES FOR 14 OF THEIR STUDENTS WHERE THEY ALSO RECEIVED CLASS CREDIT. THIS PROGRAM BRINGS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND A STUDENT INTERNSHIP TO THE CAMPUS TO INCREASE ACCESS FOR WORKING STUDENTS. 5) CAREER AND LEADERSHIP SEMINARS ARE A COMBINATION OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS FOR COLLEGE-AGE AUDIENCES. LEAP DELIVERED 2 WORKSHOPS TO 74 PARTICIPANTS.DONATED IN-KIND AIRLINE TICKETS WITH FMV OF $13,611.

LENGTHS OF WORKSHOPS VARIED FROM ONE HOUR TO 4 HOURS VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS. 137 WORKSHOPS PRESENTED WITH A TOTAL OF 4,231 PARTICIPANTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. LEAP ALSO LAUNCHED A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS, "TEA TIMES WITH LEAP", FREE WORKSHOPS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT WERE IN NEED AND INTERESTED IN CONNECTING TO A LARGER COMMUNITY VIRTUALLY DURING THE PANDEMIC.
