OUR ORGANIZAITON, A BUDDHIST TEMPLE, IS SERVING COMMUNITIES AROUND LOS ANGELES AREA, PROVIDING AND MAINTAINING A PLACE OF WORSHIP FOR THE PUBLIC TO PARTICIPATE IN RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES AND TO LEARN BUDDDHA'S TEACHINGS IN VARIOUS OCCASIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

ULLAMBANA FESTIVAL: THIS HOLIDAY IS CELEBRATED BY BUDDHISTS FROM 1ST TO 15TH DAY OF 7TH LUNAR MONTH. ULLAMBANA FESTIVAL REINFORCES THE CONCEPT OF FILIAL PIETY AND SIGNIFIES STHE IMPORTANCE OF PERFORMING "GOOD DEEDS" TO ACCUMULATES SPIRITUAL MERITS, AND TO SHARE THE MERITS WITH THE DEPARTED SOULS. OUR TEMPLE'S EXPENSES INCLUDE PROMOTION OF THE EVENT, PREPARATIONS OF TEMPLE FACILITIES, FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE ALTAR AND REFRESHMENTS FOR VISITORS.


CHINESE NEW YEAR: EVERY YEAR OUR TEMPLE HOLDS CHINESE NEW YEAR LAMP LIGHTING FOR 10 DAYS, STARTING FROM CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE TO THE 9TH DAY OF CHINESE NEW YEAR FOR THE GOOD OF MANY VISITORS.LIGHT IS A SYMBOL OF KNOWLEDGE AND DISPELLING OF DARKNESS. DARKNESS REPRESENTS IGNORANCE, AND LIGHT IS A METAPHOR FOR KNOWLEDGE.LAMP LIGHTING IS ESPECIALLY MORE SIGNIFICANT WHEN DONE IN NEW YEAR AS IT IS SYMBOLIZED DISPELLING THE YEAR AHEADOF DARKNESS AND BRINGING A FRESH START OF THE YEAR.DEVOTEES PRAY AND ASK FOR BUDDHA'S BLESSINGS FOR THEIR LOVED ONES AND FAMILIES.
