SENDAS IS AN EDUCATIONAL CULTURAL CENTER IN SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS CHIAPAS DEVELOPED TO SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGES ON ISSUES OF HUMAN RIGHTS, INDIGENOUS RIGHTS, DEFENSE OF TERRITORY AND PEOPLES AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF AUTONOMY. OUR COLLABORATORS, IMAGENARTE, ACTIVELY WORK WITH COMMUNITY COLLECTIVES TO FOSTER JUST ECONOMIES THROUGH DEVELOPMENT AND COMMERCIALIZATION OF THEIR PRODUCTS IN A PHYSICAL STORE WITHIN THE SPACE. OUR LIBRARY HOLDS BOOKS ON MOVEMENT HISTORY, INDIGENOUS STRUGGLES, AND OTHER AREAS. WE HOLD BI-WEEKLY PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL CONVERSATIONS IN THE LIBRARY FOR NEW-COMERS TO THE RICH SOCIAL HISTORY OF THE REGION.


THE ONLINE STORE WAS SPECIFICALLY DEVELOPED TO COMMERCIALIZE PRODUCTS FROM INDIGENOUS ARTISANS' COLLECTIVES IN THE U.S. THEREBY PROVIDING NOT ONLY AN OUTLET FOR THEIR PRODUCTS, BUT ALSO INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGIONS WHERE THE COLLECTIVES RESIDE. OUR ONLINE STORE BRINGS DIRECT CONTRIBUTIONS INTO THE COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE PURCHASE OF THEIR PRODUCTS.


THE VIVERO IS OUR NURSERY IN SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS BUILT TO FOSTER THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR WORK WITH COMMUNITIES IN AGROECOLOGY, RANGING FROM SEED PRESERVATION TO MEDICINAL AND EDIBLE PLANT CULTIVATION AND DISTRIBUTION TO REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE WORKSHOPS. OVER THE COURSE OF 7 YEARS, THE NURSERY, HOUSED AT THE SITE OF OUR OFFICE IN SAN CRISTÓBAL, HAS BEEN AT THE HEART OF OUR WORK.
