THE CARDINAL MCINTYRE FUND FOR CHARITY (THE FUND) WAS FORMED TO ASSIST THE "NEEDIEST OF THE NEEDY" BY RAISING AND MAINTAINING FUNDS TO REIMBURSE PARISHES OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF LOS ANGELES FOR EMERGENCY FINANICAL ASSITANCE THEY GIVE TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.THE PARISHES PROVIDE DIRECT ASSISTANCE OR PAY PROVIDERS (UTILITIES, LANDLORDS,MEDICAL PROVIDERS,ETC.) ON BEHALF OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES NEEDING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE. PARISHES APPLY TO THE FUND FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO A MAXIMUM OF $5,000 PER ANNUM FOR EACH PARISH. THE CARDINAL MCINTYRE FUND FOR CHARITY RECEIVES ITS FUNDING THROUGH THE FOLLOWING SOURCES:- THE ANNUAL ARCHDIOCESAN APPROVED COLLECTION IN OUR PARISHES USUALLY HELD ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF MAY;- ANNUAL HOLIDAY APPEAL LETTER COINCIDING WITH THE FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT (LATE NOVEMBER) SENT BY U.S. MAIL TO CURRENT NAMES ON THE FUND'S DONOR DATABASE; AND- UNSOLICITED DONATIONS FROM BENEFACTORS RECEIVED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
