THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE SOCIETY IS TO PROMOTE SCOTTISH CULTURAL AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES THAT PROVIDE A GREATER KNOWLEDGE OF SCOTTISH HISTORY, ART LITERATURE, MUSIC AND TRADITIONS TO ITS MEMBERSHIP AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE.

THE ORGANIZATION HISTORICALLY FOCUSES ITS CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES ON CULTURAL EVENTS SUCH AS THE USS SCOTTISH FEST AND THE SEASIDE HIGHLAND GAMES. IN ADDITION, SUPPORT IS ROUTINELY PROVIDED TO PROMOTE TRAINING FOR: HIGHLAND DANCERS, THEIR COMPETITIONS & AWARDS; HIGHLAND GAMES ATHLETICS; AND MUSIC & LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT. IN ADDITION TO IN-PERSON / LIVE EVENTS, THE SOCIETY IN 2022 CONTINUED TO USE MULTIPLE MEDIA AND VIRTUAL PLATFORMS TO PROMOTE SCOTTISH CULTURE, EDUCATION, HISTORY AND MUSIC. DURING 2022, GRANTS AND AWARDS WERE PROVIDED TO HIGHLAND DANCERS, A SCOTTISH HEAVY ATHLETICS PARTICIPANT, AND A PARTICIPANT AT THE 2022 GLASGOW WORLD PIPING COMPETITION. THE SOCIETY ALSO PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR THE HIGHLAND DIVAS VOCAL GROUP WHICH PERFORMED AT THE 2022 ROYAL EDINBURGH MILITARY TATTOO IN SCOTLAND. IN ADDITION, THE SOCIETY CONTINUED ITS ONGOING SPONSORSHIP OF A NEWLY FORMED LOS ANGELES BASED BAGPIPE BAND.
