HOPE HOUSE FOR THE MULTIPLE-HANDICAPPED, INC. PROVIDES 24-7 COMPREHENSIVE RESIDENTIAL AND RESPITE CARE FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DEEPLY CHALLENGING DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES WHO ARE UNABLE TO BE SUPPORTED IN THE FAMILY HOME, LACK FAMILY ENTIRELY, OR HAVE BEEN DISMISSED OR EXCLUDED FROM OTHER PROGRAMS IN THE STATE. THEIR DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ARE COMPLICATED BY MENTAL AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS OF AUTISM, ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER, BIPOLAR DISORDER, SCHIZOPHRENIA, EPILEPSY, BLINDNESS/ DEAFNESS, ORTHOPEDIC AND BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES. INTENSIVE INDIVIDUALIZED TRAINING PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED BY CONSULTANTS FROM UP TO TEN PROFESSIONAL DISCIPLINES GIVING CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH COMPLEX DISABILITIES A STABLE DAILY LIFE, MINIMIZING THE IMPACT OF THEIR DISABILITIES AND BUILDING INDEPENDENT, SOCIAL AND COGNITIVE SKILLS INCREMENTALLY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO OPERATES A THRIFT STORE WHICH DOES ADD TO THE FUNDRAISING COSTS BUT ALSO HELPS FUNDRAISING INCOME AND EQUIPPING THE HOMES
