2022-2023: THIS YEAR MARKED A RELIEF FROM SOME COVID CONSTRAINTS ON THE SCHOOL AND PTA. WITH RISING COSTS AND BEING ON CAMPUS, WE HAD A LARGER FUNDRAISING GOAL. WE ALSO FOCUSED ON CREATING A STRONG COMMUNITY, WHICH STRUGGLED DUE TO BOTH THE PANDEMIC AND MOVING TO A NEW CAMPUS. THE PTA WAS A VITAL COMPONENT TO ALLOW OUR SCHOOL TO REMAIN NIMBLE IN FUNDING - FROM OFFERING SUPPORT TO LOWER INCOME FAMILIES UTILIZING OUR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION LIAISON AS THE CONDUIT, LISTENING AND SUPPORTING OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF ABOUT THEIR FUNDING NEEDS, AND ENGAGING OUR COMMUNITY IN EVENTS THAT BUILD CONNECTIONS, FRIENDSHIPS, AND SUPPORT RESOURCES. THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS: FOCUS ON REACHING OUR $127,000 FUNDRAISING GOAL TO HELP PROVIDE PTA FUNDINGWE PROVIDED SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL FUNDING REQUESTS INCLUDING COVERING THE SALARY FOR OUR ART TEACHER, KINDERGARTEN MOVEMENT. A SECOND KINDERGARTEN AID, AND TEACHER/STAFF SUPPLIES. MINI GRANT OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHERS/STAFF TO REQUEST SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING WHERE NEEDED. TEACHERS WERE EXCITED TO RETURN TO FIELD TRIPS AND LEANED ON THE PTA TO HELP WITH THE FUNDING. CLASSROOM COORDINATORS CONTINUED TO BE THE BRIDGE OF COMMUNICATION AND COMMUNITY BUILDING PTA GENERAL MEETINGS CONTINUED TO BE HELD VIA ZOOM. MORE FAMILIES WERE ABLE TO JOIN PTA MEETINGS DUE TO THE FORMAT. PTA HOSTED A KINDERGARTEN LEMONADE THE WEEKEND BEFORE SCHOOL STARTED PTA HOSTED A WELCOME COMMUNITY PICNIC ALL COMMUNITY GATHERING ON 8/21/22PTA ORGANIZED A SUCCESSFUL WALK & ROLL TO SCHOOL 10/12/22 AS PART OF THE NATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO GET TO SCHOOL BY WALKING, BIKING, ETC TO SCHOOL.PTA AND MATH COACH DAVID PISTRANG HOSTED AN IN PERSON MATH NIGHT FROM K-2 ON 10/13/22 WHERE KIDS AND FAMILIES PLAYED FUN MATH GAMES TOGETHER WITH DINNER PROVIDED BY THE PTA. WE HOSTED ANOTHER MATH GAME NIGHT (GRADES 3-5) ON 4/13/23HOSTED A SUCCESSFUL READ-A-THON FUNDRAISER THAT BOTH RAISED A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT AND ENCOURAGED KIDS TO READ11/15/2022 PTA HOSTED A VIRTUAL STORY NIGHT WHERE THE COMMUNITY GATHERED ON ZOOM TO READ COZY STORIES AND CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF THE READ-A-THON. PTA SENT HOT COCOA HOME TO MAKE IT EXTRA FUN. WE CONTINUED OUR ANNUAL TRADITION OF SENDING HOLIDAY BAGS FILLED WITH GIFT CARDS AND BAKED GOODS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY LIAISON TO HELP FAMILIES WHO NEED A BOOST OVER THE WINTER SCHOOL CLOSER.2/28/23 WE PARTNERED WITH THE PRINCIPAL ON AN AFRICAN AMERICAN READ IN EVENT. 4/15/23 WE HOSTED AN OXFORD BEAUTIFICATION DAY SATURDAY, APRIL 15 - OXFORD BEAUTIFICATION DAY - WHICH INCLUDED PICKING UP TRASH,. WEEDING, PLANTING SOME MORE DROUGHT RESISTANT PLANTS, AND ADDED NEW MULCH ALONG CURTIS STREET AND IN FRONT OF THE UNIVERSITY AVE ENTRANCE ARE OUR GOALS OF THE DAY. THIS HELPED MAKE THE AREAS WHERE WE DROP OFF AND PICK UP OUR KIDS CLEAN AND SAFE. WE WORKED TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE THE TEACHERS AND STAFF WHO DO SO MUCH FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GAVE THEM COFFEE ON SOME MORNINGS AND ORGANIZED A LUNCH AND FUN TREATS DURING TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK. THE PREVIOUS YEARS OTTERPALOOZA WAS SO MUCH FUN WE DID IT AGAIN. THE FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNITY GATHERING EVENT FEATURED RAFFLE, BBQ, DESSERT FOOD TRUCKS, PHOTOBOOTH, AND DJ. WE HOSTED AN ONLINE SILENT AUCTION WHICH CLOSED BEFORE THE EVENT WHERE PEOPLE COULD PICK UP THEIR WINNING AUCTION ITEMS AT THE EVENT.
