HELD A 2016 STATE CONVENTION BRINGING TOGETHER STUDENTS AND FACULTY FROM MEMBER SCHOOLS ACROSS THE STATE FOR SPEAKER, WORKSHOPS, CONTESTS, MEETINGS AND MORE. UP TO 400 STUDENTS, FACULTY, SPEAKERS, JUDGES AND VENDORS ATTENDED. HELD A NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CONFERENCE AND A SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CONFERENCE AT CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGES. EACH CONFERENCE WAS A ONE-DAY EVENT PROVIDING JOURNALISM STUDENTS AND FACULTY FROM MEMBER SCHOOLS A VARIETY OF WORKSHOPS, CONTEST, AND MEETINGS.INCLUDED IN THIS PROGRAM SERVICE IS EFFORT IN FACILITATING STUDENT AND FACULTY PARTICIPATION IN SUBMISSIONS TO THE ORGANIZATION'S REGIONAL AND STATE CONTESTS. BOTH THE CONFERENCES AND THE CONTESTS FACILITATED THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AND OPINIONS, DEVELOPED AND MAINTAINED EFFECTIVE JOURNALISM CIRRICULA, PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES FOR MEMBER, RENDERED MUTUAL AID AND CONTRIBUTED TO THE CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT OF A FREE STUDENT PRESS.
