DURING 2020 JACKSON ORTHOPEDIC FOUNDATION PROVIDED MUSCULOSKELETAL EDUCATION AND SERVICE PROGRAMS TO PATIENTS, HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, AND THE PUBLIC IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS MISSION TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WITH MUSCULOSKELETAL CONDITIONS. THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTED RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF ORTHOPEDICS DESIGNED TO HELP HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS BETTER UNDERSTAND AND MEET THE CHALLENGES THEY CURRENTLY FACE IN CARING FOR THESE PATIENTS.PATIENT EDUCATION PROGRAMS:ARTHRITIS AND OSTEOPOROSIS EDUCATION CLASSES UPON REQUEST. INDIVIDUAL ARTHRITIS & OSTEOPOROSIS PATIENT EDUCATION WAS PROVIDED TO CLIENTS ON REQUEST BY VOLUNTEER LICENSED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS.INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION WAS PROVIDED ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS TO CLIENTS/PATIENTS SEEKING HEALTH CARE INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR MUSCULOSKELETAL CONDITIONS. THIS EDUCATION WAS PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEER LICENSED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS.PROVIDER EDUCATION PROGRAMS:PROVIDED LOCAL NURSING CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS, PRIMARILY ONLINE AND VIA TELECONFERENCING DUE TO COVID19 RESTRICTIONS.PRINCIPALS OF THE ORGANIZATION PRESENTED TALKS AT STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL, REPRESENTING THE MISSION AND GOALS OF THE FOUNDATION. THESE WERE ALSO CONDUCTED REMOTELY VIA TELECONFERENCING BECAUSE OF THE RESTRICTIONS OF THE 2020 COVID PANDEMIC.COLLABORATED WITH LOCAL UNIVERSITY TO CONTINUE DEVELOPMENT AND TO PROVIDE COURSES THAT ARE BASED ON ESTABLISHED CURRICULUM FOR ORTHOPEDIC PRIMARY CARE PROGRAM.REVISED AND FURTHER EDITED FOUR-MODULE, 250+ HOUR HYBRID (ONLINE AND ON-SITE) CONTINUING EDUCATION ORTHOPEDIC PRIMARY CARE COURSE FOR ADVANCED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AND CONVERTED THE ENTIRE COURSE TO ONLINE ACCESS.DEVELOPED 4 NEW ONLINE MUSCULOSKELETAL MINI-COURSES BASED ON EXISTING ORTHOPEDIC PRIMARY CARE CURRICULUM. THESE COURSES ARE DESIGNED TO PREPARE CLINICIANS TO DIAGNOSE AND MANAGE COMMON MUSCULOSKELETAL CONDITIONS IN PRIMARY CARE SETTINGS. PROVIDED 5-WEEK SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM FOR 4 COLLEGE STUDENTS.SERVICE PROGRAMS RECYCLED DME FOR PATIENTS IN NEED, INCLUDING GENTLY USED CRUTCHES, WALKERS, BRACES & SPLINTS.RESEARCHRESEARCH INITIATED FOR PHASE III OF NP MUSCULOSKELETAL KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCE, AND CONFIDENCE STUDY, THE ADEQUACY OF NURSE PRACTITIONER EDUCATION IN MUSCULOSKELETAL MEDICINE.
