THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION AND DOCUMENTATION, WE PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND KNOWLEDGE, BY DEMONSTRATING THE IMPORTANCE OF MODERN DESIGN PRINCIPLES INCLUDING THE SOCIAL CONTEXT, TECHNICAL MERITS, AESTHETICS AND SETTINGS OF THESE IMPORTANT PIECES OF AMERICAN HISTORY.

THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION AND DOCUMENTATION, WE PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND KNOWLEDGE, BY DEMONSTRATING THE IMPORTANCE OF MODERN DESIGN PRINCIPLES INCLUDING THE SOCIAL CONTEXT, TECHNICAL MERITS, AESTHETICS AND SETTINGS OF THESE IMPORTANT PIECES OF AMERICAN HISTORY. THIS IS DONE THROUGH VARIOUS PROGRAMS SUCH AS: EDUCATION - DOCOMOMO US PRODUCES PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE INFORMATION THROUGH ITS MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS, MAINTENANCE OF WEBSITE AND ON-GOING MAILINGS ON NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS TO PRESERVE MODERN ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN AND LANDSCAPE. TRAVEL TOUR - AN EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL TO VARIOUS LOCALES PROVIDING A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THE VARIETY OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE, LANDSCAPE AND DESIGN, ACCESS UNUSUAL SITES, AND LEARN FROM LOCAL EXPERTS. NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM - DOCOMOMO US PRODUCES AN ANNUAL EVENT FOR ITS MEMBERS AND OTHERS TO GATHER, DISCUSS, SHARE AND EXPLORE THE PRESERVATION OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE AND ITS LEGEACY AND IMPORTANCE TODAY. THE EVENT PROMOTES THE VALUE OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY, PROVIDES A FORUM FOR DISCUSSION AND PROMOTES INTERACTION AND COLLABORATION. MODERNISM IN AMERICA AWARDS PROGRAM SEEKS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE SUBSTANTIAL ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL IMPACT SUCH PROJECTS HAD AND CONTINUE TO HAVE ON OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND TO SET A STANDARD FOR HOW PRESERVING MODERN ARCHITECTURE CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED.
