ABAD-CAPOEIRA SAN FRANCISCO'S ACSF PRESERVES DEVELOPS AND SHARES THE ART OF CAPOEIRA WITH INTEGRITY AND CULTIVATES ENGAGES AND SUPPORTS CULTURAL PRACTITIONERS AND ARTISTS. BY EXPLORING CREATIVE WAYS OF SHARING CAPOEIRA AND RELATED ARTS ACSF REMAINS A PIONEERING FORCE IN THE PRESERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF BRAZILIAN ARTS. FOUNDED IN 1991 BY MASTER ARTIST MRCIA TREIDLER ACSF USES CAPOEIRA ARTS TO ENRICH STRENGTHEN AND UPLIFT UNDER-RESOURCED COMMUNITIES AND AS A CATALYST TO BUILD A HEALTHY JUST AND VIBRANT SOCIETY IN WHICH PEOPLE FEEL CONNECTED TO AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR COMMUNITY. WOMEN-LED AND ROOTED IN SAN FRANCISCO'S MISSION DISTRICT FOR OVER 32 YEARS ACSF CONTINUES ITS COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING ACCESSIBLE INCLUSIVE CULTURALLY AUTHENTIC PROGRAMS AND APPRENTICESHIPS TAUGHT BY HIGHLY SKILLED ARTISTS.

THE CAPOEIRA ARTS CENTER LOCATED IN THE MISSION DISTRICT OF SAN FRANCISCO IS OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK TO THE PUBLIC. INSTRUCTIONAL BRAZILIAN MARTIAL ARTS DANCE AND MUSIC CLASSES ARE OFFERED DAILY YEAR-ROUND. PROGRAMMING INCLUDES OUR REACHING ALL YOUTH PROJECT OR RAY PROJECT A FREE CAPOEIRA PROGRAM SERVING OVER 150 LOW-INCOME YOUTH AGED 5-19 THROUGH CLASSES AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES. ABAD-CAPOEIRA SF PROVIDES LOW-COST REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SPACE TO LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS AND ARTISTS. PROGRAMS SERVE APPROXIMATELY 5,000 YOUTH AND ADULTS OF ALL AGES EACH YEAR.


ABAD-CAPOEIRA SF PERFORMANCE COMPANY WORKS TO PROMOTE AFRO-BRAZILIAN CULTURE THROUGH THE PRESENTATION AND PRODUCTION OF COMMUNITY-BASED AND STAGED PERFORMANCES.


ABAD-CAPOEIRA SF PROVIDES BRAZILIAN MARTIAL ARTS DANCE AND MUSIC INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS PERFORMANCES AND WORKSHOPS. PROGRAMS CULTURALLY EDUCATE AND EMPOWER CHILDREN TEENS AND ADULTS. ACSF CONDUCTS IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL ONLINE PROGRAMS.
