THE MONTAIR FOUNDATION IS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO RAISING FUNDS TO MAINTAIN AND ENHANCE EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AT MONTAIR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

FUNDS RAISED BY THE MONTAIR FOUNDATION ARE USED TO SUPPORT:SCIENCE PROGRAM: FUNDS ARE USED TO PAY FOR SCIENCE AID AND THE LIFELAB PROGRAM WHICH GIVES STUDENTS MORE HANDS-ON SCIENCE EXPERIENCE.TECHNOLOGY & COMPUTER LAB: FUNDING PAYS FOR STAFFING THE COMPUTER LAB, PROVIDING TECH SUPPORT SERVICES FOR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL, AND PURCHASING ADDITIONAL HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE AS NEEDED.MATH INTERVENTION: PROVIDING MATH INTERVENTION TO 1ST - 5TH GRADES FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT.


VOCAL & INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC: ALL KINDERGARTENERS HAVE A VOCAL CLASS ONCE EACH WEEK AND ALL 3RD GRADERS ARE INTRODUCED TO INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC BY LEARNING TO PLAY THE RECORDER.DRAMA PROGRAM: ALL 2ND GRADERS PARTICIPATE IN THE SCHOOL'S DRAMA PROGRAM AND STAGE A PERFORMANCE FOR THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY.PARAPROFESSIONAL CLASSROOM AIDES: AIDES WORK DIRECTLY WITH KINDER TO 5TH GRADE KIDS IN SMALL GROUPS REDUCING THE TEACHER STUDENT RATIO.


LIBRARY: FUNDING ENABLES THE LIBRARY TO REMAIN OPEN THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL DAY. STATE FUNDING IS SO LOW THAT IT DOES NOT COVER A HALF-TIME POSITION.SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT & CURRICULUM: IMPORTANT SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS HELP STUDENTS LEARN CRITICAL RESOLUTION AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS.READING INTERVENTION: FOUNDATION MATCHES OTHER FUNDS TO PROVIDE INTENSIVE READING INTERVENTION FOR K - 5TH GRADERS WHO NEED ADDITIONAL SUPPORT.
