CALDA IS FOCUSED ON HELPING THE PUBLIC BECOME AWARE OF THE LEGAL DOCUMENT ASSISTANT PROFESSION AS DISTINCT FROM THE PARALEGAL PROFESSION. CALDA IS COMMITTED TO THE CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION OF ITS MEMBERS AND TO ELEVATING THE ETHICAL STANDARDS OF THE LDA PROFESSION.

CALDA HAS SEEN A STEADY INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP, PARTICULARLY SINCE 2020. IN THAT TIME, OUR MEMBERSHIP HAS GROWN FROM 358 MEMBERS TO 478. WITH THE INCREASED MEMBERSHIP CALDA HAS BEEN VERY BUSY RESPONDING TO THE NEEDS OF OUR MEMBERS AND WORKING TO STRENGTHEN THE LDA PROFESSION.UNTIL THREE YEARS AGO CALDA AVERAGED 11 EVENTS ANNUALLY, AND IN 2022 CALDA HELD 86. CALDA HAS ALSO ADDED AN ON-DEMAND ACADEMY FEATURING A DOZEN DIFFERENT CLASSES. IN 2022 OUR THIRD ANNUAL VIRTUAL CONFERENCE SAW RECORD ATTENDANCE, UP 30% FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE INTRODUCTION OF TWO PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS IN 2022 HAS HELPED BOLSTER MEMBERSHIP AND RECOGNITION OF LEGAL DOCUMENT ASSISTANTS IN THE COMMUNITY.
