TO PROVIDE AN ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAMMATIC UMBRELLA FOR 5 CLIENT-RUN SELF-HELP MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS: BERKELEY DROP-IN CENTER, BEST NOW, REACH-OUT, REACHING ACROSS, AND THE TENANT SUPPORT.

BEST-NOW: GRADUATED 24 MENTAL HEALTH CLIENTS WHO WANT TO WORK IN THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE FIELD. THEY ATTENDED A 7 WEEK PEER SPECIALIST TRAINING PROGRAMS AND SERVIED A 6 MONTHS PAID INTERSHIP IN AN ORGANIZATION THAT COULD HIRE THEM.


BERKELEY DROP IN CENTER IS A MULTIL-PURPOSE CENTER FOR PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH AND/OR SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES, PROVIDES PEER AND GROUP SUPPORT, HOUSING SERVICES, MONEY MANAGEMENT/PAYEE PROGRAM, ADVOCAY FROM BASIC SURVIVAL AND OTHER LIFE NEEDS, SUBSTANCE USE ISSUES GROUPS, ANGER MANAGEMENT GROUPS FOR BOTH COURT-ORDERED AND VOLUNTARY PARTICIPANTS, RECEREATIONAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. APPROXIMATELY 700 CLIENTS SERVED.


TENANT SUPPORT PROGRAM SERVED OVER 350 CLIENTS 24 CLIENTS WERE ASSISTED IN SIGNING UP AFFORDABLE HOUSING 13 HOME STRETCH APPLICANTS WERE SCREENED 4 WERE APPROVED! 22 WRAP GROUPS WERE FACILITATED AT THOMAS ADAMS 82 CLIENTS PARTICIPATED!
