BACDS PROMOTES AND DELIVERS A RANGE OF SPECIAL EVENTS WHICH ARE HELD TO PROMOTE AND PRESERVE ENGLISH AND AMERICAN MUSIC AND DANCE. THESE INCLUDE WEEKEND AND WEEK-LONG INTENSIVE TEACHING AND FORMAL CONTUME BALLS.
BACDS MAINTAINS SEVERAL MONTHLY OR BIWEEKLY DANCE SERIES, AVERAGING A TOTAL OF 18 EVENTS MONTHLY. THESE INCLUDE ENGLISH COUNTRY, CONTRA, AND SQUARE DANCE TRADITIONS AND ALL FEATURE LIVE MUSIC. MOST ARE AIMED AT INTRODUCING THE ART FORMS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, WITH A FEW GEARED TOWARDS MORE ADVANCED DANCERS.
BACDS MAINTAINS FIVE SEPARATE PERFORMANCE DANCE TEAMS. THESE TEAMS PERFORM COTSWOLD AND BORDER MORRIS, MOLLY DANCING, LONGSWORD DANCES, AMERICAN SQUARES, CONTRA, AND CLOGGING THROUGHOUT THE GREATER BAY AREA. THE DANCE TEAMS ALSO REPRESENT THE ORGANIZATION AT REGIONAL GATHERINGS OF DANCE TEAMS SUCH AS SEATTLE'S NORTHWEST FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL AND THE ASHLAND SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL.
