SPECTRUM'S MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF SENIORS AND LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS IN ALAMEDA COUNTY BY ENHANCING THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE AND HELPING THEM AGE AT HOME WITH DIGNITY.

THE ENERGY PROGRAM HAS TWO COMPONENTS, (1) LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHEAP) (CASH ASSISTANCE) PROVIDING CREDITS ON ENERGY BILLS TO OVER 5,500 HOUSEHOLDS EACH YEAR IN ALAMEDA COUNTY AND, (2) WEATHERIZATION PROVIDING HEALTH, SAFETY AND IMPROVED ENERGY EFFICIENCY MEASURES IN APARTMENTS, MOBILE HOMES AND HOUSES THROUGHOUT ALAMEDA COUNTY FOR INCOME ELIGIBLE RESIDENTS.


IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, SPECTRUM COMMUNITY SERVICES PROVIDES A WIDE VARIETY OF COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDING:THE SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM PROVIDING FRESH, NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO ADULTS 60 YEARS AND OVER, (1) THE SENIOR MEALS (CONGREGATE) SERVES OVER 81,000 MEALS PER YEAR IN NORTH, CENTRAL AND SOUTH ALAMEDA COUNTY AND, (2) THE MEALS ON WHEELS (HOME DELIVERED) SERVES OVER 41,000 MEALS PER YEAR IN EAST ALAMEDA COUNTY.


THE FALL PREVENTION PROGRAM PROVIDES EDUCATION, ASSESSMENTS AND EXERCISE CLASSES TO ASSIST ADULTS 60 YEARS AND OLDER WITH INJURY PREVENTION IN CENTRAL AND SOUTH ALAMEDA COUNTY.
