THE MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM SERVED APPROX. 566,773 MEALS TO 3001 UNDUPLICATED HOMEBOUND SENIORS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021. NUTRITIOUS BALANCED MEALS WERE DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO QUALIFIED HOMEBOUND SENIOR CITIZENS FIVE DAYS A WEEK. COLD AND FROZEN MEALS WERE DELIVERED ON THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS FOR THE WEEKEND. A WELLNESS CHECK OF THE HOMEBOUND SENIOR WAS NOTED BY THE DRIVERS AT THE TIME OF THE MEAL DELIVERY. THE AREA SERVICED BY THE ORGANIZATION IS CENTRAL ALAMEDA COUNTY (SAN LORENZO, SAN LEANDRO, HAYWARD AND CASTRO VALLEY) AND THE CITY OF OAKLAND.
