GRANTS TO INDIVIDUAL CONTENT CREATORS AND INDEPENDENT CONTENT CREATION ORGANIZATIONS:STARTING IN 2024 OUR GOAL IS TO SUPPORT INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS AS THEY ARE FUNDING, PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING THEIR DOCUMENTARIES, WITH A FOCUS ON HELPING FILMMAKERS FROM UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS AND PROMOTING DOCUMENTARIES WITH AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR SOCIETY. OUR GRANTS ARE TAILORED TO HELP WITH THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF EACH FILMMAKERS PROJECT AT THE POINTS IN TIME WHERE SECURING FUNDING IS MOST CHALLENGING, INCLUDING AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF PRODUCTION OF THE FILM AND FOR DISTRIBUTION OF THE FILM. WE WILL SUPPORT FILMMAKERS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM CONVENTIONAL SOURCES, SUCH AS FILMMAKERS WHO ARE DISTRIBUTING THEIR DOCUMENTARIES INDEPENDENTLY.
FISCAL SPONSORSHIPS:STARTING IN 2024 AUTHENTIC ARC INTENDS TO SERVE AS A FISCAL SPONSOR OF PROJECTS THAT FURTHER AUTHENTIC ARC'S CHARITABLE MISSION OF SUPPORTING THE INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY FILM COMMUNITY. OUR FISCAL SPONSORSHIPS MAY INCLUDE DIRECT PROJECTS (MODEL A, WHERE THE PROJECT BELONGS TO AUTHENTIC ARC AND IS IMPLEMENTED BY ITS EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS), INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR PROJECTS (MODEL B, WHERE THE PROJECT BELONGS TO AUTHENTIC ARC BUT IS CONDUCTED BY A SEPARATE ORGANIZATION UNDER A CONTRACT), AND PRE-APPROVED GRANT RELATIONSHIPS (MODEL C, WHERE THEPROJECT APPLIES TO AUTHENTIC ARC FOR GRANT FUNDING, AUTHENTIC ARC APPROVES THE PROJECT AS A GRANTEE, AND AUTHENTIC ARC MAKES GRANTS TO THE GRANTEE TO CARRY OUT THE PROJECT). AUTHENTIC ARC WILL HAVE A FISCAL SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH EACH PROJECT TO ENSURE THE PROJECT FURTHERS AUTHENTIC ARC'S CHARITABLE MISSION.
EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS:STARTING IN 2024 AUTHENTIC ARC IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING RESOURCES AND EDUCATION TO HELP FILMMAKERS AND ASPIRING FILMMAKERS AT THE CRITICAL JUNCTURES OF DOCUMENTARY PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION. THROUGH WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, WEBINARS AND ONE-TO-ONE COACHING, WE WILL EDUCATE FILMMAKERS ON THE TASKS NOT TAUGHT IN FILM SCHOOL. THESE INCLUDE HOW TO CREATE A PITCH DECK, APPROACHING POTENTIAL FUNDERS, CREATING A COMPELLING WEBSITE, SUBMITTING THEIR FILMS TO BROADCASTERS (SUCH AS PBS), SECURING THEATRICAL AND ONLINE DISTRIBUTION, AND ORGANIZING GRASSROOTS OUTREACH CAMPAIGNS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THEIR FILMS. FILMMAKERS CAN ALSO LEARN FROM EACH OTHER'S EXPERIENCES, AND WE WILL FACILITATE IN-PERSON AND ON LINE GATHERINGS FOR THE INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY COMMUNITY. AUTHENTIC ARC WILL ALSO SHARE INFORMATION AND MATERIALS ABOUT INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
PROGRAMS TO EDUCATE CONTENT CREATORS ON HOW TO BRING THEIR WORK TO AUDIENCES:STARTING IN 2024 AT AUTHENTIC ARC, WE AIM TO EMPOWER INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKERS TO SUCCEED IN THEIR CRAFT BY PROVIDING THEM WITH THE IMPORTANT TOOLS AND KNOWLEDGE. ONE CRUCIAL ASPECT OF SUCCEEDING AS A FILMMAKER, WHETHER SEEKING FUNDING OR SEEKING DISTRIBUTION, IS DEVELOPING A CLEAR STRATEGY AND AN EFFICIENT MARKETING PLAN. THROUGH OUR SEMINARS, WEBINARS AND SOCIAL MEDIA, WE WILL EDUCATE FILMMAKERS ON THE BEST TOOLS AVAILABLE TO HELP THEM FINISH THEIR FILMS, FIND DISTRIBUTION AND SHARE THEM WITH THE PUBLIC.
