SWAS PURPOSES ARE TO SUPPORT SMART WATER INFRASTRUCTURE THAT IMPROVES ACCESS TO WATER FOR THE PEOPLE OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. SWA USES ADVOCACY, COMMUNICATION, COALITION-BUILDING, AND OTHER STRATEGIC APPROACHES TO BUILD SUPPORT FOR, AND GAIN APPROVAL OF, CRITICALLY NEEDED AND WELL-PLANNED WATER PROJECTS AND SYSTEMS

THE SECURE WATER ALLIANCE (SWA) WAS FORMED IN MAY 2023, AND IN THE ENSUING SEVEN MONTHS, WE LAID THE GROUNDWORK FOR SWAS FUTURE EFFORTS IN SUPPORT OF FIVE IDENTIFIED WATER SUPPLY AND STORAGE PROJECTS BY MONITORING THE REGULATORY PROCESSES FOR THOSE WATER PROJECTS, HELD MEETINGS FOR OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO PROVIDE THEM WITH CURRENT INFORMATION ON THE PROJECTS WE ARE SUPPORTING, DEVELOPED A PUBLIC-FACING INFORMATIVE WEBSITE (WWW.SECUREWATERALLIANCE.COM), SUBMITTED COMMENT LETTERS IN SUPPORT OF WATER POLICIES AND PROJECTS THE ALLIANCE SUPPORTS, APPLIED FOR GRANT FUNDING AND SECURED SPONSORSHIPS, AND WORKED TO COMPLETE THE ORGANIZATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE ALLIANCE, INCLUDING BYLAWS, ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION, ETC.
