LOCAL FAITH GROUPS, IN ALLIANCE WITH THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE, WILL PROVIDE EMERGENCY FOOD SUPPLIES, WITHOUT CHARGE, T0 INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE ASHLAND/TALENT AREA WHO WOULD OTHERWISE GO HUNGRY AND WILL ALSO ENDEAVOR TO INCREASE AWARENESS ABOUT THE PROBLEM OF HUNGER IN OUR COMMUNITY.

THE ASHLAND EMERGENCY FOOD BANK PROVIDES FOOD, FREE OF CHARGE, TO RESIDENTS OF ASHLAND, TALENT AND SURROUNDING RURAL COMMUNITIES. EACH MONTH, OVER 600 FAMILIES REPRESENTING APPROXIMATELY 1,700 INDIVIDUALS COME TO THE ASHLAND EMERGENCY FOOD BANK FOR FOOD. APPROXIMATELY 35 PERCENT ARE CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18.EACH FAMILY RECEIVES ENOUGH FOOD FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER FOR 2-3 DAYS.INVENTORY OF DONATED FOOD ITEMS HELD FOR DISTRIBUTION ARE NOT REFLECTED IN THE STATEMENT OF REVENUE, FORM 990, PART VIII, STATEMENT OF EXPENSES, FORM 990, PART IX, OR ON THE BALANCE SHEET, FORM 990, PART X. PURCHASED INVENTORY IS SHOWN AS AN EXPENSE ON FORM 990, PART IX, WHEN PURCHASED.
