WE USE FOOD TO CHANGE LIVES AND BUILD HEALTHY COMMUNITIES. OUR FOODSERVICE JOB-TRAINING PROGRAMS HELP PEOPLE WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY BY MARRYING THEIR TALENTS TO THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. OUR FOOD PRODUCTION BUSINESS PROVIDES A SUSTAINABLE MODEL THAT SUPPORTS OUR FOOD TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.

CREATE COMMON GOOD (CCG) USES FOOD TO CHANGE LIVES AND BUILD HEALTHY COMMUNITIES. CCG TRAINS INDIVIDUALS WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT SUCH AS REFUGEES, WOMEN AFFECTED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, PEOPLE OVERCOMING ADDICTION OR INCARCERATION THROUGH VALUABLE ON-THE-JOB FOOD SERVICE SKILLS TRAINING FOR LONG-TERM SELF-SUFFICIENCY. WE OPERATE A COMMERCIAL KITCHEN AND ALL THE FOOD PRODUCED IS WITH THE INTENTION OF DEVELOPING THE SKILLS AND TALENTS OF AT-RISK POPULATIONS, WHILE ALSO BROADENING ACCESS TO FRESH HEALTHY FOODS. OUR FOODSERVICE TRAINING AND WORK OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDE A SPACE WHERE TRAINEES LEARN ABOUT WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS, READYING THEM FOR SUCCESS IN FUTURE WORK. CCG SELLS FOOD PRODUCT AND SERVICES TO BOTH RETAIL AND WHOLESALE CUSTOMERS, FURTHERING THE JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS THEY OFFER. CCG PRODUCES COMMUNITY MEALS FOR A LOCAL NON-PROFIT PARENT SUPPORT GROUP AND FOOD FOR BUSINESSES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY.


CREATE COMMON GOOD (CCG) EMPOWERS ADULTS WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT THROUGH FOODSERVICE TRAINING AND JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE. OUR TRAINEES LEARN ABOUT AND DEMONSTRATE MASTERY OF FOOD SAFETY, KITCHEN SAFETY AND SANITATION, KNIFE SKILLS, KITCHEN MATH, RECIPE/ORDER READING AND OTHER SKILLS CRITICAL IN FOOD SERVICE WORK. THEY LEAVE THE 120-HOUR PROGRAM WITH A GRADUATION CERTIFICATE, SERVSAFE FOODHANDLERS CERTIFICATE, RESUME AND LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION. OUR TRAINEES ALSO RECEIVE THREE MONTHS OF POST-GRADUATION EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE.
