OREGON IMPACT PROVIDES PROGRAMS TO ENSURE THAT OUR CHILDREN ARE RIDING SAFELY IN THEIR CAR SEATS, TEENS UNDERSTAND THE CONSEQUENCES OF IMPAIRED AND DISTRACTED DRIVING, AND THE ADULTS IN THEIR LIVES HAVE THE TOOLS TO GUIDE THEM.

THE ORGANIZATION INCURRED PROGRAM EXPENSES IN THE FOLLOWING MAJOR CATEGORIES: DUII OVERTIME ENFORCEMENT - THE ORGANIZATION FACILITATES DUII ENFORCEMENT DURING HIGH VISIBILITY ENFORCEMENT EVENTS WITH LOCAL JURISDICTIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ALL OVERTIME ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES ARE GEARED TO CONTINUE A REDUCTION IN IMPAIRED DRIVERS ON THE ROAD AND TO REDUCE IMPAIRED DRIVER CRASHES THAT RESULT IN INJURIES OR FATALITIES. DISTRACTED DRIVING - THE ORGANIZATION FACILITATES DISTRACTED DRIVING ENFORCEMENT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND ESPECIALLY DURING THE MONTH OF APRIL IN COORDINATION WITH THE NATIONAL DISTRACTED DRIVING AWARENESS MONTH. ALL OVERTIME ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES ARE GEARED TO COMBAT DISTRACTED DRIVING STATEWIDE TO REDUCE CRASHES, FATALITIES AND INJURIES. PEDESTRIAN SAFETY ENFORCEMENT - THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS WALKING EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS, TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEES AND EMPLOYEE SAFETY EVENT IN THE STATE OF OREGON. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION FACILITATES PEDESTRIAN SAFETY ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS WITH LOCAL JURISDICTIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. SAFE COMMUNITY SERVICES - THE ORGANIZATION ACTS AS A CONDUIT TO CONNECT COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND BUSINESSES TO TRANSPORTATION SAFETY PROFESSIONALS AND ADVOCATES. SPEED ENFORCEMENT OVERTIME - THE ORGANIZATION FACILITATES SPEED ENFORCEMENT THROUGHOUT OREGON IN AREAS WITH A HIGH INCIDENCE OF SPEED-RLATED PROBLEMS FOR MUNICIPAL, TRIBAL AND SHERIFF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. IMPACT PANELS - THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES AN IMPACT PANEL TO EDUCATE VIOLATORS TO DUII LAWS AND PARTNERS WITH AREA AGENCIES AND SCHOOLS IN EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS AROUND SAFE DRIVING WHILE ALSO PROVIDING COMMUNITY EDUCATION AT LOCAL FAIRS AND CAR SHOWS TO EXPAND ITS OUTREACH TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE PORTLAND METRO AREA.
