THE PROGRAM RECRUITS, TRAINS AND SUPPORTS THE COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE (CASA) VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDE THIS ADVOCACY. FOR THE 2017-18 FISCAL YEAR, 50 VOLUNTEERS WERE UTILIZED AND 108 CHILDREN WERE SERVED. ON AVERAGE, A CHILD WITH A CASA SPENDS 7.5 FEWER MONTHS IN FOSTER CARE, HAS BETTER EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES, AND EXPERIENCES FEWER PLACEMENTS WHICH IS GOOD FOR THE CHILD AND SAVINGS FOR THE STATE.
