THE STATEWIDE ADVOCACY AND POLITICAL VOICE FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD'S TWO OREGON AFFILIATES AND FOR SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION. PPAO COUNDUCTS PUBLIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING, AND LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY TO PROTECT AND ADVANCE REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS AND ACCESS TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE. PPAO DEFENDS THE PLANNED PARENTHOOD MISSION BY ADVOCATING FOR PUBLIC POLICY THAT WILL ENHANCE AND PROTECT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION AND ACCESS; BY BUILDING SUPPORT AND ACCOUNTABILITY AMONG ELECTED OFFICIALS IN OREGON; BY WORKING WITH COALITION PARTNERS; AND BY ENGAGING AND MOTIVATING THE PUBLIC.

THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING, AND ADVOCACY, PPAO WORKED TO PASS AND IMPLEMENT POLICIES AND BUDGETS THAT PROTECTED AND EXPANDED ACCESS TO SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION REGARDLESS OF GENDER IDENTITY, IMMIGRATION STATUS, INSURANCE COVERAGE, INCOME, OR ZIP CODE. WE ADVOCATED FOR AND PASSED BILLS THAT: ESTABLISHED A HEALTHCARE MARKET OVERSIGHT PROGRAM THROUGH THE STATE'S HEALTH AUTHORITY TO ENSURE PROPOSED MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS DO NOT RAISE THE COST OF CARE OR REDUCE ACCESS TO ESSENTIAL HEALTH SERVICES; ENSURED COVERAGE OF TELEHELATH SERVICES; EXPANDED HEALTHCARE COVERAGE TO LOW-INCOME OREGONIANS REGARDLESS OF IMMIGRATION STATUS; INCREASED ACCESS TO HIV PREVENTION MEDICATION AND RESOURCES; ADOPTED AND FUNDED A DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION COMMITTEE TO CREATE EDUCATION AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR LGBTQ2SIA+ STUDENTS; PROVIDE NO-COST MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS IN PUBLIC EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS; ENSURE BALLOTS POST-MARKED BY ELECTION DAY CAN BE COUNTED; AND OTHER CHILDCARE AND HOUSING BILLS ADVANCING RACIAL, ECONOMIC, AND GENDER JUSTICE.
