METROEAST COMMUNITY MEDIA WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE PUBLIC ACCESS, EDUCATIONAL AND GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMMING TO EIGHT COMMUNITY ACCESS CABLE TELEVISION CHANNELS AS REQUIRED IN THE CABLE COMMUNICATION SERVICE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE OREGON JURISDICTIONS OF MULTNOMAH COUNTY, GRESHAM, FAIRVIEW, TROUTDALE AND WOOD VILLAGE, AND COMCAST AND VERIZON CABLE COMPANIES.

METROEAST COMMUNITY MEDIA (METROEAST) MAKES MEDIA TOOLS AND TRAINING AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. METROEAST TEACHES "HANDS ON" TELEVISION PRODUCTION, CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF MEDIA MESSAGES,AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION TECHNIQUES. METROEAST PROVIDES THE PUBLIC WITH TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND ACCESS TO TELEVISION PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF NONCOMMERCIAL, COMMUNITY-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING FOR THE CABLE SYSTEM'S COMMUNITY ACCESS CHANNELS. METROEAST ALSO PRODUCES COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AREA SCHOOLS, NONPROFIT GROUPS, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS.
