THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF OREGON IS A GRASSROOTS POLITICAL ORGANIZATION THAT ENCOURAGES INFORMED AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNMENT IN ORDER TO BUILD BETTER COMMUNITIES. THE LEAGUE'S PURPOSE IS TO INFLUENCE PUBLIC POLICY THROUGH EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY.

FOR THE OREGON PRIMARY ELECTION IN MAY 2022 THE LEAGUE PROVIDED A NON-PARTISAN PRINTED VOTER'S GUIDE THE VOTER'S GUIDE PROVIDES COMPLETE CANDIDATE AND BALLOT MEASURE COVERAGE FOR ALL OREGON STATE AND LOCAL CANDIDATES AND BALLOT MEASURES. THE LEAGUE CHARGES NEITHER THE CANDIDATES NOR VOTERS FEES FOR ACCESS TO THE VOTER'S GUIDE. THE VOTER'S GUIDE IS DISTRIBUTED IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH.


FOR THE OREGON PRIMARY ELECTION IN MAY 2022 THE LEAGUE PROVIDED A NON-PARTISAN ON-LINE VOTERS GUIDE VOTE 411 THAT PROVIDED INFORMATION BASED ON USER ADDRESS. VOTE411 COVERED ALL STATE AND LOCAL CANDIDATES AND MEASURERS. IT WAS MOBILE-FRIENDLY AND WAS PROVIDED AT NO COST TO RECIPIENTS AND CANDIDATES. FROM APRIL 11 TO MAY 18 THERE WERE ALMOST 7,000 VISITS FROM 155 OREGON LOCATIONS. THE AVERAGE READING TIME WAS 7 MINUTES INDICATING SUBSTANTIAL VOTER ENGAGEMENT.


THE STATE LEAGUE SUPPORTS LOCAL LEAGUES IN PUTTING ON CANDIDATES DEBATES AND OTHER FORUMS FOR CANDIDATE DISCUSSION AND PROVIDES RESOURCES FOR LOCAL LEAGUES TO PROMOTE LEAGUE RESOURCES AT THE LOCAL LEVEL.
